Our Church is headed up by a Leadership Team made up of Elders (Overseers) headed up by a Lead Pastor, and also Deacons who support the Elders by managing key areas/Ministries. We also have various Team Leaders, each responsible for different groups/ministries. Take a look around & get to know us, we don't bite!
Pastors, elders, and deacons are called by the church based on qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. Click here to read
According to the New Testament, elders are responsible for the primary leadership and oversight of a church. Elders lead the church [1 Tim 5:17; Titus 1:7; 1 Peter 5:1–2], teach and preach the Word [1 Timothy 3:2; 2 Timothy 4:2; Titus 1:9], protect the church from false teachers [Acts 20:17, 28–31], exhort and admonish the saints in sound doctrine [1 Timothy 4:13; 2 Timothy 3:13–17; Titus 1:9], visit the sick and pray [James 5:14; Acts 6:4], and judge doctrinal issues [Acts 15:6]. In biblical terminology, elders shepherd, oversee, lead, and care for the local church."
Pastor Jamie Kidd
Jamie has been Pastor at PBC since 2011 but has been in church leadership & full time ministry for over 11 years. For 5 years prior to PBC Jamie served on the leadership of a vibrant independent church in Colchester as well as working as an itinerant evangelist sharing his testimony as an ex Paratrooper together with the Gospel in prisons, orphanages and schools in over 20 countries seeing many people come to faith. These experiences have given Jamie a passion to see people connect with Jesus for the first time but also for the church to engage with God on a deeper and more genuine level and inspired to reach the lost for Christ.
He is married to Amy, a former solicitor and together they have 3 kids Samuel 8, Joseph 7 and Sofia 4 with 1 more on the way! They feel very privileged to be in Pinner and hope that by the grace of God, together they can make a significant difference. Jamie was theologically trained at Spurgeon’s college (founded by his hero C.H Spurgeon) where he achieved his degree in theology. Jamie would describe himself as having a reformed theology, he is a supporter of The Gospel Coalition & Coalition for Marriage. Jamie is also available to speak at evangelistic and outreach events, his story can be viewed here.
Our Wider Leadership includes both Deacons & those with an area of leadership. This Team is responsible for administration, finances and oversight of particular areas of church life and are accountable to the Elders.
Church Secretary & Women’s Ministry
While in SA I accepted the Lord as my Saviour. After trying many churches in London, it was only when attending PBC that I found one that taught the Truth and had a focus on outreach. Have enjoyed being a part of PBC as they reach out to the community as well as encouraging believers to grow in the Lord.
In line with that I restarted a ladies bible study group, SALT, in order to help with that growth in the Word and walk with the Lord. In my Church Secretarial role I hope to be able to assist in the administration side of the Church so as to enable the leadership team to work effectively for the Church.
My favourite verse is John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world”
I first came to faith in 1944 at the age of 14, after 4 years as an evacuee, living with a strong Methodist family, who encouraged me to join the church youth organisation, the Campaigners.
My commitment is to try to ensure that everything is well ordered, and runs smoothly and that the building is always ready, so that everyone who comes through the door feels at home and very welcome.
Pastoral care & New people
Now a full time home educator to Jonathan, Zoe having graduated and gone onto Theatre Academy work. I came to know Christ in 1997 in Melbourne, Australia, in a dramatic way following the tragic suicide of a close friend. Having had no Christian influence in my life my world literally turned upside down overnight – in a good way!
I have always had a deep hunger for theology and went on to study the Bible for 2 years at our local church where I worked in youth, young adult and women’s ministry, was worship director and also singer/songwriter and recording artist for the following 9 years.
My husband felt the call to return to the UK after 17 years ‘Down Under’ and we have always felt the call to ministry. After arriving back here we weren’t certain where God would plant us but we wanted to be a part of a local, pioneering work.
In May 2012 (approx) we met and connected with Jamie and Amy and their heart to reach out and bring the message of Salvation found in Jesus to the area, becoming members at PBC in 2013. I have served in the worship and discipleship ministry as well as local outreach initiatives the past 4 years at PBC.
I am passionate about knowing Jesus and discipling others to know Him more fully, whether that is through the Christianity and Discipleship Explored course frameworks or a 1-2-1 coffee at Starbucks.
I also have a heart to disciple mums and to encourage them in seeking God’s heart for motherhood, to live into their full potential as women of grace and live forward into ideals, not perfectly but consistently. I want to bring a renewed sense of hope and purpose—especially to mums who are feeling weary and over-committed.
